Sara Miller and her 82nd Airborne Unit were deployed
to Iraq in September 2003 as part of an emergency security
force. While initially stationed 80 miles west of Baghdad,
she was soon moved; her whereabouts remained unknown to her friends
and family for the duration of her deployment. Her duties included
standing night guard in a watchtower over an army compound. She
returned uninjured to Fort Bragg in the first week of April 2004,
and has been promoted to Sergeant.
Thaddeus Ressler was given a Psychological
Evaluation in November 2003; where he sought to convince
his superiors that the army was a threat to his mental well being
and pushing him towards suicide. While they initially discounted
his case, they finally granted him a Medical/Non-Physical
release, and he was issued an honorable discharge on December
23rd, 2003. Thaddeus returned home to his family in Chicago, where
he is presently living in his parents back room, taking
his dog for walks, and studying to be a clairvoyant.
Nelson Reyes was processed out of the army without
penalty in Spring 2003. After his familys less than warm
homecoming welcome, he decided to move to Atlantic City. He got
a job as a security guard on the graveyard shift at Showboat Casino,
but was laid-off in September 2003. He is now attending bartending
school.
